What size settings do you use with what size cabochons?

With calibrated cabochons, you can use a calibrated cabochon setting of the same size. The regular stock cabochons you buy from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads are all calibrated, meaning that it is ensured their measurements are exact to a fraction of a millimeter. 

The cabochons in our assortments or closeout buys usually are not calibrated. If your cabochon is not calibrated or you don't know if it is calibrated, it is best to select a setting that is slightly larger than your stone. That way you will have a little bit of room to work with when putting the stone into the setting.
